Introduction to Earth Science: BLOCK 1

Introduction to Earth Science

Slow and Powerful
As a homeschool student, the system of learning does NOT focus on "all the arrows pointing down" as you listen to a teacher giving knowledge or reading a book with a selected amount of information.

This component of your learning will focus on video watching, analyzing and writing. Use it along with the other forms of learning and really learn the stuff you study.

Because you are learning mostly in an independent fashion, you have the following resources available.
  • Your textbook (if you have one) is one of several resources
  • Google and YouTube videos are excellent learning tools
  • Certain projects will help explain and understand concepts

Most of the Blocks in this course will ask you do several actions.

  • Watch appropriate YouTube videos
  • Write a summary  of the important concepts in those videos
  • Use your textbook as an active resource

So Let's Get Started.

ASSIGNMENT:
1. As you watch the following video, Greatest Discoveries with Bill Nye - Earth Science, make a list of each of the “Greatest Discoveries.”
